Come Grow with Us

Everyone knows no two seasons are ever the same. There is an old saying in Illinois,” if you don’t like today’s weather, wait ten minutes.”

Change has been a constant for our farm and isn’t something we fear. We look ahead to new opportunities. Our farm is a living, breathing science project. We consistently review and test technology to determine its value to our operation.

Every field is studied to determine its unique management needs paying attention to topography, drainage and soil profile.

LaTerra Partners strives to do things the right way the first time.

Farming – It’s What We Love

Every day on the farm offers something new. During the winter, you might find us working on equipment in our shop, hauling our crops to market or attending meetings and seminars.

In the spring, our work revolves around getting the seeds planted in the soil. The weather forecast becomes the center of most conversations around here. Summer brings us the sunshine and long days we need to care for the crops and prepare for the most important season, harvest.

Harvest is when we all come together as a family to bring in the fruits of our year’s labor from our fields.

We take great pride in the maintenance and upkeep of all of our equipment and properties. We work as a team to wash and repair each piece of equipment after its use so that it is ready to go for the next time.

The roadsides and waterways are mowed to remove noxious weeds and scrub trees. By reducing weeds along the field edges, we lower our farm’s herbicide use and prevent field contamination with weed seeds.

Autonomous technology in our equipment ensures that we conserve fuel and eliminate skips and overlaps in applications. Our equipment is also capable of no-till, minimum till and conventional tillage operations.

Our grain storage and processing facility is modern and multifunctional. Various bins sizes allow us to segregate and store 275,000 bushels of grain. We can utilize our continuos flow computerized grain dryer, in bin stirators or natural air drying to achieve superior grain quality samples.

LaTerra Partners has extensive experience in growing specialty crops such as identity preserved soybeans and corn, and seed crops. We have many years of experience growing seed for companies including DeKalb/Asgrow and Syngenta. We have also grown food grade soybeans for direct export.

Here’s a little secret from our farm:

The key to Success = (Expertise + Commitment) x (Agronomy + Environment)

Working Together

Have you ever gone to the hardware store looking for a specific tool? Standing among the long aisles of shelves filled to brim, you find everything but what you need. What do you do?

Hopefully, you ask the right person for help!

As farm business owners, we pride ourselves in our ability to operate your farm or grow your product. We realize the importance of establishing new relationships to continue to GROW. We promise to take the necessary time and listen to what you are specifically asking for. Together we can develop a plan.

As farmers, with a piece of duct tape or baling wire, we can solve just about any problem.

The relationships we cultivate are long lasting and important to us. For over twenty years, we have partnered with many of the same suppliers. Our suppliers know that we demand timeliness and a professional job. Grain buyers know us by name and call us to purchase our products because they know we will deliver quality time and time again. Land that we have rented for decades has been passed down through generations. We have helped families work through what can be a difficult transition period.

We have all the tools you need in our barn at the farm.  Just ask.
