Community Involvement
In addition to our business, being active in the community is an integral part of our operation. Ron is currently serving as treasurer on the DuPage County Farm Bureau board of directors. Ron also serves as the President of the Victor Drainage District in DeKalb County. Both Ron and Ryan are members of the American Soybean Association and the National Corn Growers Association. In the past, Ron has participated in the Illinois Soybean Association Soyleader program. In June 2001, Ron went to China with Illinois Farm Bureau on a market study tour.
Ryan is a member of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau. He is a Captain on the Waterman Volunteer Fire Department and serves as an EMT on the ambulance. Ryan was chosen to represent the state of Illinois in the DuPont Young Leaders conferences and was chosen to participate in the Soyleader program. Ryan has served Northeastern Illinois Farm Business Farm Management as president and state board rep.
In addition, the family participates in the DeKalb County Adopt-A-Highway program, helping to keep America beautiful.
Equipment and Practices
Maintenance and upkeep of our equipment is very important to us. Our equipment encompasses many different manufacturers. The pictures in this web site show our equipment both in the field and in the farmyard. We pride ourselves on utilizing the latest technology available. University of Illinois recommendations are followed in a four-year site-specific fertility program. We practice integrated pest management and soil conservation techniques using both no-till and reduced tillage methods.
We take pride in our farm and our community
