Our Family
The Frieders family has been farming
in Illinois since 1851. Ron began farming with his father, Roy,
in 1970. Two years later he married Denise and she became an integral
part of the operation. They have three adult children: Daun, Ryan,
and Dean.
Ryan graduated from North Central College in March of 1998 with
a degree in finance. He is continuing the family business. In December
2005, Ryan completed his MS in Crop Science at the University
of Illinois. Dean is an associate at Mickey, Wilson, Weiler, Renzi & Andersson
in Aurora, IL.
Daun is a University of
Illinois
graduate and is the science department chair at Maine South High
School in Park Ridge, IL.

Equipment and Practices
Maintenance and upkeep of our equipment
is very important to us. Our equipment encompasses many different
manufacturers. The pictures in this web site show our equipment
both in the field and in the farmyard. We pride ourselves on utilizing
the latest technology available. Since 1997, we have used a
global positioning system in our combine for harvest data. This
enables us to have a complete yield history available on all the
property we farm. University of Illinois recommendations are followed
in a four-year
site-specific fertility program. We practice integrated pest management
and soil conservation techniques
using both no-till and reduced tillage methods.
